Great Futures Productions Information
 
Great Futures Productions is a Children's Theatre Company at The Boy & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe. Great Futures Productions creates extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge, and inspire young people and their communities. We unleash the power of curiosity, empathy and imagination. Great Futures Productions is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people by offering opportunities in the performing arts that engender self-confidence, inspire both individual expression and ensemble teamwork, and provide positive role modeling, thereby encouraging community outreach through quality theatrical productions for children and teens. 

Great Futures Productions produces five musicals a year and one play, with one of the five musicals being produced in  partnership with Incline High School. Great Futures Productions also offers classes in singing, dancing and acting through-out the year. 

One product of Great Futures Productions has been the Musical Theatre Troupe. The troupe is a group of 20 students from the musical theatre program ranging in grades 5th-12th. The troupe performs at a variety of events through out the year in the North Lake Tahoe and Reno communities. 
The Troupe has won two talent competitions over the past four years. In 2014 the troupe traveled to Long Beach, California to perform at the BGC Pacific Regional conference. In September of 2017, ten students from the musical theatre troupe were awarded a trip to Las Vegas to perform at The Planet Hollywood. These students opened the Pacific and Southwest Region Leadership Conference. April 2024 the Troupe opened for the 30th Anniversary of Broadway Comes to Reno at the Pioneer Center. Shows in partnership with North Tahoe High School take place in the North Tahoe High School theater, located at 
2945 Polaris Road Tahoe City, CA 96145.

Shows in partnership with Incline High School take place in the Incline High School theater, located at 
499 Village Blvd., Incline Village, NV 89451.

Kings Beach Program shows take place at the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe's Kings Beach Clubhouse building on the gym stage, located at
8125 Steelhead Ave., Building B, Kings Beach, CA 96143.

AUDITION DATE: Sept 30th & Oct 1st at The Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe in Kings Beach 

TIME: Sign up for 15 minute time slot on one of the days listed above

GRADES ELIGIBLE TO AUDITION: 7th through 12th grade

CALLBACKS: (if needed) October 2nd 4:00pm-8:00pm (subject to change)

CASTING: 10 Character roles and a 20 member ensemble. Only 30-35 performers will be cast. 

WHAT TO PREPARE: Please prepare two songs of your choice. One Song should be from The show and the additional song should be from another musical (Note: Both can be from the show). Please bring your own back track/karaoke track/spotify/youtube etc. If you need assistance with this please let me know. You May be asked to read from the script at your audition. Tracks to songs are available at the bottom of this email.  

Once you are signed up Sara will email you a digital copy of the script as well as the audition form!

MANDATORY DATES: 

PERFORMANCES: December 12th 7:00 PM, December 13th 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM & December 14th 2:00 PM.

 Mandatory Tech week: will run Saturday December 6th through Thursday December 11th 

 REHEARSALS: 
Rehearsals will start early October. There will be a read through/first music rehearsal on Friday October 3rd from 3:30pm-7:30pm. Main rehearsal days will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays . Occasional Fridays (if needed) for leads if available. Rehearsals are broken up by scene and song so not all performers will be called to every rehearsal. Potential Leads should have more open availability. I will try to work around schedules as much as possible. PLEASE COME To audition with a good idea of your availability. ALL REHEARSALS WILL TAKE PLACE IN KINGS BEACH AT THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF NORTH LAKE TAHOE.


ATTENDANCE POLICY: Unexcused absences WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. We only have seven-eight weeks of rehearsal. Students will receive THREE excused absences. Excused absences need to be requested BEFORE the day of rehearsal. 


REGISTRATION: All Performers will be required to sign up for a BGCNLT Annual Membership ($20) and Register for The Addams Family on Active prior to the first scheduled rehearsal.
